This 2-day course encompasses a brief history of Pilates, the principles of Pilates, comparison of physiotherapy research into back pain and core control & Pilates. 

We have adapted and down-graded many of the original Pilates exercises to meet the needs of a beginner or rehabilitation client. We have also added many exercises that are inspired by contemporary physiotherapy research. The course will cover client assessment of core and pelvic strength and matching exercise to function.

The exercise repertoire in this course covers early rehabilitative exercises to intermediate exercises. The course includes over 100 exercises. This course has a strong practical component. Design and implementation of a Pilates Matwork class will be included in this workshop thus giving you the confidence to return to your workplace and conduct Matwork classes. 

Assessment – you will be working in small groups designing and delivering a Pilates matwork class. 

Post course work requirements (only required for Fitness professionals and if you don't have a movement therapy degree ) 
This applies to professionals with background other than physiotherapy, exercise science or physiology.
It will include:
- An online written exam about each exercise – to be completed in your time after the course.
- Producing a 45 minute long videorecording of yourself instructing a small class of friends or you can come to our studio and take    a mock class.
- Logging 15 hours of self practice, and 15 hours practice teaching classes with consenting family and friends.

This course is recognised by Fitness Australia and Accredited by ESSA. Physiotherapists accrue 1 point per hour for ongoing education.
