Physiotherapist, Exercise physiologist, Sports scientist – third or fourth year student 

Cert 3 or 4 Fitness Instructor or Diploma of Fitness  

If you don’t have the space for large Pilates equipment and want to jazz up your classes this course this is a great add on. Small apparatus is also a great way to get your clients to engage in their home exercise programme. 

This course includes more advanced matwork and then includes a comprehensive range of Pilates exercises utilizing small equipment – Swiss balls,  Theratubes and bands, foam rollers and the Pilates ring. We have extrapolated many of these exercises from large Pilates exercises. This course includes beginners (rehab) exercises to advanced.

Small apparatus can offer the client more support and make exercises safer at one end of the spectrum. It can make exercises more unstable which will challenge and facilitate automatic recruitment of the deep stabilizing muscles by the client. 

In this course we also delve deeper into fascial band connectivity in the body and what exercises can assist with fascial stabilizing patterning.

Assessment will include a small group project on day 2 – design and deliver a class with a specific clientele as the focus.

Physiotherapists and ESSA candidates will be assessed on the course.

Fitness Australia candidates will need to complete a multiple choice & short answer quiz after the course, they need to log 15 hours of self-practice and make a video of a class that you have designed and deliver to at least 2-3 people.
